Richard is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and is a specialist in treating trauma and anxiety disorders. He has been working with addicted and traumatized populations for the last ten years. Richard entered into the industry following the overdose and death of several of his fostered sons. In addition to a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, Richard holds a Master of Divinity.
Over the past 10 years, Richard has worked as a paramedic, clinician, advocate, and public speaker, most notably at the African Seminary Sola Scriptura, Kavusi Malawi. During his stint in Malawi, Africa- Richard worked with sexaully exploited populations and assisted in recovery and sting operations. Richard currently collaborates with Brevard's Drug Court as a consultant. Richard is dedicated to bringing healing to families and communities affected by the American Opioid Crisis, and in seeing survivors of trauma find their identity and healing. Richard took a particular interest in BRIC due to its sensitive and insightful approach to treatment.
In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time with his family, paddle boarding, marathon and triathlon training, reading, traveling, and hanging out with his cat Ms. Pickles.
