Dr. Beth Mahoney completed her medical education at the Philadelphia Osteopathic Medical College and subsequently completed a 4 year residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Mahoney is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Before medical school, Dr. Mahoney was a nurse for 13 years, working primarily in the ER and trauma.
Dr. Mahoney specializes in Bipolar Affective Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and all psychiatric disorders and various forms of psychosis.
Dr. Mahoney has seen first hand the profound impact that MAT (medication assisted treatment) can have on the appropriate patient population and utilizes a variety of medication assisted treatment including, but not limited to, Suboxone/Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, and Vivitrol in addition to appropriate psychotropic medications to address any underlying mental health issues.
Dr. Mahoney believes in appropriate case conceptualization and takes her time when meeting with and assessing her patients. Dr. Mahoney has a reputation for the ability to build a trusting and empathic therapeutic rapport with her patients and enjoys working with all populations, but especially enjoys working in addictions and with children and adolescents.
In her free time, Dr. Mahoney enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending her local Church, and simply relaxing and enjoying the pleasures life has to offer.
